look, man, if something i say upsets you, let’s have a dialogue about it. don’t accuse me of being “brainwashed by right-wing propaganda” just because my views trend center-left.

i get that you dig all sorts of protest and activism, and i respect that- never once have i accused you of being “brainwashed by ultra-left propaganda” just because i happened to disagree with you. i’m personally not interested in participating in many facets of activism as a subculture. i just keep an eye on politics and have opinions about it.  as such, i like talking politics with you because you’re engaged and- so i thought- thinking critically about these issues. but if you’re going to revert to passive-aggressive histrionics simply because i hold a different viewpoint- on one single issue- then maybe you’re not quite the tolerant, equality-interested person i’d originally held in fairly high esteem. i enjoy discussion and disagreement so long as things stay amiable. i voiced one viewpoint that you disagree on and suddenly vast generalizations are being made about my state of mind, even when what i had said was not inflammatory, hateful, insulting or, perhaps most importantly, unsupported. not only is is your approach counter-productive, but it immediately positions us in oppositional conflict. no one learns from each other, operating that way.

i guess i’ll just have to be the bigger person and not feed the troll, here, but i look forward to speaking with you again once it’s something we both agree on- which appears to be a result of your conditional acceptance and friendship, not mine.
